2018 Porsche 911 Exclusive Edition: Full Body Suntek Ultra Paint Protection Film (Clear Bra)

The Porsche Turbo S 911 Exclusive Edition is immediately noticed from afar with its dominant black stripes, however upon closer inspection, you notice it is real carbon fiber weave shown through the Golden Yellow paint. There is carbon fiber accents noted throughout the vehicle, from the side mirrors, air ducts on the rear, rear spoiler, to the subtly golden woven carbon fiber on the interior; Porsche hasn’t left a detail untouched on this one.

Boasting the 3.8L Flat-Six, the Exclusive puts down a healthy 607HP with 553 lb-ft of torque. With a 0-60 in just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 205MPH, it all feels so linear in Porsche’s 7 speed PDK Transmission.

The vehicle was brought in from factory and gone over with our client meticulously. We decided to wrap the entire car in Suntek’s Ultra paint protection film (PPF), as this is the best barrier to protect a vehicle’s paint from the elements of our environment (stone chips, sap, tar, bugs, road paint, etc).

The car was first washed, decontaminated with an environmental fallout remover, claybarred, and inspected for imperfections.

Upon completion, we prepped the car for wrap. Many clients who inquire about our PPF services are educated as to how each pattern is custom fitted to ensure all edges are tucked and rolled where possible, leaving a virtually seamless installation.

Finally, we did a post-wash to rid the surface of any install solution, and prepped for application of Ceramic Pro.

With our 5 year package, we coat the film in two different products, 1 layer of each. The first, providing superior and added UV protection to the film, and the second providing an ultra slick, buttery smooth hydrophobic layer to ensure optimal hydrophobicity, gloss, and ease of cleaning. Washing a vehicle was never this easy!

The pinnacle of all things automobile, Monterrey Car Week has so many events for car enthusiasts it will make even the craziest car fanatic's head spin. Our mission during this week was to prepare and shine up all the rare, exotic and classic cars alike for the notorious McCall Motorworks Revival Event at the Monterrey Jet Center, and at The Quail. For Gordon McCall's event, we performed a little bit of everything with our team; from basic wipe and prep, to paint corrections, sealants and even coatings, these extraordinary vehicles looked spectacular for the main event in the evening. Aside from cars from Ferrari (both old and new), the new Ford GT, hypercars like the Koenigsegg and Porsche 918, there were also several aircraft that were flown in for the party. Gordon McCall puts on one hell of a show, and we along with the entire Gordon McCall Detailing Team would like to thank you Gordon for inviting us and being an awesome host! After a night full of good food, cocktails, and rubbing shoulders with VIP's like John Hennessey and Camilo Pardo (the designer of the Ford GT), our next stop for the week was The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering.

Staged on the Quail Lodge fields, this show is the elite of the elite of high-end automobiles. Koenigseggs, Bugatti (both the Chiron and Veyrons were present), Concept One, Karma, Audi, Lamborghini, Ferrari, only begin to scratch the surface of the rare and phenomenal brands of eye-candy represented at this event.

A hive of Koenigseggs we prepared for The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. The centerpiece? The only Koenigsegg Regera in the country.

Ceramic Pro 9H Glass Protective Coating Explained

Ceramic Pro is the trusted name in Ceramic Coatings. It's not just a glass coating, it's a ceramic coating with permanent bonding. Ceramic Pro 9H has above 9H scratch resistance, stands up to 2192 degrees Fahrenheit, is chemical resistant and super hydrophobic. It also adds extreme gloss and color enhancement and anti-graffiti properties. These claims and properties are all verified by SGS.

It has scratch resistance of 9H on pencil test. That doesn't mean that it the coating can't be scratched however that it has the hardness of 9H and even above 9H. The coating is a sacrificial layer to protect the paint so the paint isn't as susceptible to getting scratched as easily. It is multi layer-able so more layers can be added to build a thicker barrier and get even better protection. This is the hardest coating on the market today and if you get a scratch it will most likely be in the coating instead of destroying your paint.

We started off the process when the car was dropped off to our shop courtesy of our client. We cleaned the exterior, wheels and calipers via hot high pressure steam. We removed all paint protection film from the front of the car which was original from 2007, all vinyl and decals to ensure the paint surface was bare for the next step: paint correction.

Our Concours finish paint correction was performed next. This consisted of spot-wet-sanding deep scratches followed by multiple compounding, polishing, and jeweling steps to ensure maximum defect removal and the ultimate shine. Upon reaching the final stages, it was particularly important to stress the delicate fashion in which way we wiped off the polish, as well as the type of microfiber towel used to prevent any towel-scratching or marring to Porsche's notoriously soft paint. We also 3 stage paint corrected the door jambs to remove imperfections.

Upon completion, we installed 3 layers of Ceramic Pro 9H, and 1 layer of Light to all exterior painted surfaces. We also coated the HRE wheels with Ceramic Pro Wheel & Caliper.

Hauled in an enclosed trailer to Las Vegas Nevada, heads turned and cameras came out as the world-record Porsche was started and pulled into the Flex Tools booth inside the convention center for the world to see. We wanted to prove that a race car can be a show car. Our client's EVT1700 Porsche 997 built by Evolution Motorsports did just that. Sit back, grab some popcorn, and enjoy the video showcasing this beautiful transformation.

Shout-out to Ceramic Pro for the sponsorship of product for this event. Also a thank you to Bob and Andreas of Flex Tools for having the car in the Flex booth all week long! You guys Rock!
