Read MoreWhat is “Paint Correction?”
Paint correction is often times mistaken by many for repainting a vehicle. Many think that the term paint correction refers to fixing scrapes, stone chips, dents, dings, etc.
While all those horrible mishaps can be fixed with other methods, they are not fixed by a machine polisher or “paint correction”.
Paint correction is the process of reducing, minimizing and/or eliminating imperfections in a vehicle’s clear coat.
A vehicle has a few layers to the pretty shiny stuff you see: typically there’s a primer layer, a base coat or “color” layer, and the clear coat or top coat which makes the surface appear ultra shiny/glossy. Imperfections in clear coat can be caused by a plethora of things, such as a cat walking across the hood, someone keying a vehicle, wiping it down improperly, improper washing/care methods, bird poo droppings, acid rain, California dusters, tree sap , the list goes on!
So how do you get rid of the scratches?
Paint correction can involve a number of measures (literally) including measuring paint depth to ensure there is enough clear coat available to correct (otherwise you’ll burn through to the base coat or beyond!), as well as choosing the right machine, pads, compounds and polishes to correct the issue.
